Our Vineyard The vineyard is designed to offer a a nearly ideal microclimate for the vines. It extends over rolling hills next to the pristine Lafrouda lagoon, protected by the “Ramsar” Convention. Lafrouda nourishes the leaves in the early morning hours protecting them during the dry summer months. The linear cultivation with a N-S orientation ensures that the stems receive sufficient sunlight all day while the mid-day sea breezes blow parallel to the planting lines preventing moisturerelated diseases. Terroir The unique sandstone substrate at shallow depths, the hilly terrain and the proximity to the Lafrouda lagoon and the sea combine to create a microclimate well suited to the cultivation of vines with a wine-making history spanning centuries. Our wines are certified with a Protected Geographical Indication of Avdera. Sustainability We cultivate our vineyards keeping in mind that they belong to generations to come. Our grapes are certified organic since 2006 as are our wines. On-site PV power plant (20kW) and an electric truck are further reducing our carbon footprint. Heritage In the land of Dionysus, the father of wine-making, we embrace the tradition an affirmation of the Hellenic heritage of our products cultivating Mavroudi, Pamidi, Limnio (red) – Assyrtiko, Alexandrian Muscat, Athiri, Roditis, Malagouzia (white) along with well-known French varieties
