A stretch of sun from Madara peak is Emparos, south of the prefecture of Heraklion. Knowing our history, we continue the tradition of our place, creating a women cooperative with a lot of love, passion and hard work. We operate with daily views of the hill where the ancient state was built with the beautiful name Erganos. Erganos is a plateau southeast of the prefecture of Heraklion. It is located at the foot of Mount Diktaio at an altitude of about 1000 meters. It is known since ancient times with archeological findings, such as the royal passage, the xenotaphs with the vaulted tombs and others. Today those same fields are cultivated producing oil, cheese, wheat, honey with a special taste and the aroma of the place produced by the very distant inhabitants of the ancient state of Erganos. For us, Erganos means obligation. For your guarantee that our products are made from the purest materials produced by our place. We work with the same technique, in the same traditional way that our grandmothers learned from their own grandmothers. Packed and maintained with the modern rules of hygiene in food handling, to reach your table safely, with the taste and aroma of our tradition. Our cooperative consists of new dynamic members. We work daily from 8:00 to 21:00. We undertake all kinds of social events, weddings, baptisms, etc. It would be very important to spread all this heritage of Cretan gastronomy throughout Greece, making known the traditional Cretan diet.
